KP2 + Zaurus

I will upload soon another video (there is already one on YouTube but it is very dark) of the live show at What’s Up last Saturday but in the meantime here are some pictures and a short video to show the Kaoss Pad 2 with a remote touch pad (a Zaurus PDA). The touch PAD is connected to the KP@ through a 5m cable that allows me to move around easily while using the KP2. I’ve the plan to add some other controls on the PDA such as the Hold function as well as the selection of the programs if possible.

The video of the KP2 in action (Sound is unrelated to the video):

How to repair your KP2 with a Zaurus MI-L1

Some months ago, while practicing in studio and using my Kaoss Pad 2 with the foot (not a good idea !), I push too hard and the touch pad broke…
In fact, I totally forgot about the KP2 until recently when Alvaro gave me a Zaurus MI-L1 he bought for almost nothing at Akihabara. I thought that I could may be replace the broken touch pad of the KP2 by the touch screen of the Zaurus.
I was amazed how easy it was ! Except the size of the connector, the connections are exactly the same ! I just had to solder the output of the Zaurus screen to the input connector of the Zaurus and it was done !
Now I can control my KP2 from a small Zaurus PDA, especially once I will have connected them through a longer cable.

Now some pictures (and a movie) ! [click for a larger picture]

The connection, only 4 wires !

The broken screen of the KP2 and the KP2 connected to the Zaurus.

Back from Osaka

Great live last Sunday at Osaka Bridge ! This place is absolutely amazing but if you want to go there you have to hurry as it is scheduled for closing in July. We then spent the night in the Spa World in the same building before coming back to Tokyo.
Anyway, here are some pictures of the place, the live of droise + video by Moju (or doroise as it was written because of the Japanese way to write it) and of some other acts.

Double Toy Dashboard Effect

I’ve just finished an effect pedal for my toy guitar that I’m using when playing with droise.
The effect is the Dirty Bird one and is inserted into two small plastic toy dashboards that I bought for 300yens each at Daiso and removed all the electronic inside (the original dashboard is emitting sounds).
Here are some pictures and you can find a video (in very bad English) on YouTube.

The next use of this effect (first time live) will certainly be at Osaka Bridge on 13 May 2007.
More information on the 23N! site.

KitKat Macha Miruku

Great new KitKat for two reasons. First, it is a Green Tea KitKat, certainly the best KitKat ever and second, it looks very nice with the green and white stripes.
