????????UEC?

Some pictures of the noise event at Aoi Heya on 25 November 2007. A good event with a great final by Nakahara-san, some fights  (I saw a real one much more violent just after the show when a taxi driver decided to beat the crap out of his drunk client…) and loud noise.

Merde

Saturday I went to the shooting of the forthcoming Carax movie (in fact the segment “Merde” of the project Tokyo! with Gondry and Joon-ho Bong) to be an extra.

It was fun for few hours but after one full day there in the cold, it was getting really boring. But we got a nice T-shirt (well, I don’t know if it can be called nice but I can definitely wear it at a death metal band live show). The funniest part was certainly the Japanese extras screaming “merde” (merudo as they pronounce it). For people who don’t speak French, “merde” means “shit” and is used quite often (may be a kind of French “fuck”). It is the name of the main character in the movie played by Denis Lavant.

Dorkbot Swiss Tokyo

Yesterday was the fifth Dorkbot Tokyo at Yokohama 9001 and I went there with the idea that I would do a toy guitar solo. I was on the train to Yokohama with Alvaro Cassinelli (Khronos Projector) and we decided to add some visual interaction to the musical performance. After Alvaro finished his code with processing and an arduino bluetooth, we added a sensor to the toy guitar so that my movements during the performance would interact with the visual display while I would try to perform sounds in rhythm with the visual. The results is on youtube and on we-make-money-not-art. It was a very interesting collaboration for a first one decided in a train and despite the last minutes technical problems…
