Noise Gas Mask (new version)

I finished a new version of the noise gas mask I’m using for live performance with No Fork Droise (and before with droise). I’m planning to use it more often with No Fork Droise as the main element of a brand new performance live show. There are no big changes compared to the previous version but I think the case looks better than the previous Tupperware box. The new case comes from Don?Kihote (Don Quichotte, with of course a penguin as logo) and is originally an alarm clock.
The two switches A and B on the front are for changing some parameters of the effector contained inside the case (Dirty Bird). The switch on the top is for power on/off (the “ready” red LED is turned on when the power is on). The “PUSH” button adds a lot of feedback and noise to the sound. The black pot on the front is for setting the sensitivity of the mic that is located inside the mask (the mask features two pots for the sensitivity of the effector and for the frequency). The two green LEDs on the front near the switches A and B turn on depending on the volume of the sound coming from the mic. There is a contact mic inside the mask in addition to an electret mic. The plug on the top is for the mask itself and the other plug at the bottom is the sound output.

Muryouku Muzenji (?????)

This long weekend (today is off in Japan) had a great start with Zeni Geva and it continued with two nice events at Muryoku Muzenji.
If you’ve never been there you’re really missing something especially when the MCs are TASKE and Mazeru na Kiken as it was the case on Saturday. I played with Anal-chan Gakudan (the members are Anal-chan – voice, Pamu – keyboard, Mazeru na Kiken – drums, Konomeal – guitar, Benkei – bass and 23N! – noise. We should play again there in April.) but all the other performers/bands were great. I mean, a place where a girl is playing drums with the sticks between her breasts, a guy is able to take off all his clothes in less than 1 second or a 60 y.o. guy is wearing “sailor fuku” while singing idol songs, how could that possibly not be great ?

You can see a lot more pictures of this event here.

Then today was an event organized by Binary Kidd with themselves, Pinoruck, Ishikawa-san (Pascals, Tama) and Kami-sama.
As usual, Binary Kidd were amazing (I think there are getting better each time I see them). They had a third support member playing the guitar that allowed the two original members to focus on the performance. And the girl playing the keyboard had this time at least 5 panties. I wonder how many she will wear next time.

Zeni Geva

I finally could see Zeni Geva in Japan ! After three times in France around 10 years ago, I was always unable to see them when they played here. But now it’s done and they were just amazing, as perfect as when I saw them 10 years ago !

Before them were Zazen Boys (who are definitely not my thing) and Masonna who delivered a very short set (three minutes may be) as he usually does. It was nice but I’m a bit disappointed by the fact that the noise is pre-recorded. Nonetheless, the performance was impressive.

Daiso Toy Saxophone MP3 Player Mod

I finished to mod an Seagrand X-Air MP3 player using a toy saxophone bought at daiso. It is similar to the previous mod I’ve done with the same MP3 player but with another musical toy from daiso.
I’ve put more pictures with descriptions and some details on Flickr (daisax set).

All the functions of the original MP3 player have been kept. There is even a mic in the mouthpiece so that it is possible to record something and play it right after. I think I’ll use it for my next live !

I’ve started to change the bitmaps of the graphic interface thanks to a very nice program (MP3 resource editor). For the moment, only the welcome message has been changed but as there is still the USB plug, I can change more or less all the graphic elements of the interface.
