If there is only one book from Hotwax that I would recommend, it is definitely this one: “Queen of Japanese Movie”. The book is the last release from Hotwax (it was released last December). It is a full color, B5 format, 160 pages book with a soundtrack CD (of Stray Cat Rock – Sex Hunter).
The content is sometimes similar to the one of the book “Pinku Violence” but is not only about Toei’s movies. It is focused on main actresses of the genre and series of movies.
The first 44 pages are about the Stray Cat Rock series.
The next 18 pages on the Girl’s Junior High School series + Bad Girl Mako.
Then 8 pages on four actresses: Kaji Meiko, Ike Reiko, Sugimoto Miki and Bunjaku Han.
38 pages on the Girl Boss Blues series.
24 pages on the Terryfying Girl’s High School series.
26 pages on four other movies including Zero Woman.

Most of the content is color pictures with only few text. For each movie, the information (staff, cast) is given both in Japanese and English. All the text about the actresses are in English too. There is a Japanese text for each movie but the most important movies of each series have their text translated in English (8 according to the website but in fact at least 10).
