Musical Drum MP3 Player
I just finished the first prototype of a customized MP3 player. More precisely, it is an MP3 player (X-air by Seagrand) that I bought at Akihabara for 400yens (as you can see, it was a very cheap price) inserted inside a toy called “musical drum” that I bought at daiso for 300yens.
The original “musical drum”:

I removed the case of the X-air and replaced its original tiny buttons by the big colorful buttons of the musical drum. The LCD screen has been inserted where the speaker was and one of the button (the yellow one) has been replaced by a switch that control the volume. On the side, a headphone jack for the output. On the back, a single 1.5V LR6 / AA type battery powers the player.

It was the first so I made some mistakes (like wrongly connecting some wires and burning some components relative to the USB connection…) but as I bought a lot of these MP3 players, so the next ones will be better.
Some explanations of the controls:

on aurait aimé un truc un peu plus fou… un truc genre mp3 grinder, qui lit quelques secondes aléatoirement, des effets de strech etc…

Oui mais pour cela il faut modifier le firmware et c’est au-delà de mes capacités…
